Flexibility more important than bonus for British employees
Flexible working is the most popular working condition among British employees. According to a recent British study by PricewaterhouseCoopers 47 percent of the respondents appreciates flexibility more than financial extras.
The second place is reserved for bonuses related to performance; 19 percent values this working condition as very important followed by gaining more responsibility in the third place. Half of all respondents preferred to work for themselves as an entrepreneur.
According to the PWC survey among a thousand workers, the recession played an important role in the changed attitude of people. Through reorganizations more work had to be done with fewer employees resulting in an increased workload. Especially these negative experiences have ensured that people now want a better balance between work and private life.
